All Unifaith Executive Team members are volunteers  who understand faith workers need people they can trust.

united for you

Ministers, faith workers and their families contact us because they recognize we are stronger together.

Our first connection often starts when a minister has concerns and wants a safe place to discuss warning signs, possible courses of action, and precedent in the United Church of Canada.

The minister's family is greatly impacted and also deserves our support and compassion.

Here are some of the things Unifaith and our predecessor organization, Clergy United, have done:

  •  Listened to and understood the minister, then offered knowledge of similar cases and potential outcomes
  • Acted as the minister's liaison and advocate in dealing with United Church officials
  • Prepared and accompanied the minister to J-9 Reviews and other United Church court processes
  • Supported the minister at provincial Human Rights mediations
  • Helped organize and edit documents required for the minister's case
  • Assisted in negotiations for the minister's return to work
  • Launched a pension campaign throughout the United Church to inform and motivate church people to call for the first pension raises that retirees and actively serving clergy had in more than 10 years - with everyone's tremendous aid, Unifaith's campaign was successful
  • Held prayer vigils for ministers being unjustly treated and removed by church officials
  • Connected Unifaithfuls so they can feel supported and encouraged
  • Gather safely and respectfully together at in-person and virtual Unifaith education events, drop-ins, Annual General Meeting and more
  • March as Unifaith and with Unifor and other labour groups to protect the rights of all working people
  • Unite Unifaithfuls, families and Unifor allies, in the name of justice and solidarity
